But, make sure your light strips are supported by the remote. Also, use the original remote control that came with your product. Now, follow these steps to pair the controller;
Basic Follow-ups
Before starting the pairing process, kindly note the following things;
- Your remote should directly point toward the light strips.
- Remove any objects between the remote and the strips.
- Maintain the minimum or required distance.
- Plug the lights into a recommended wall outlet. For example, you should check the voltage of the source.
- Use the compatible adapter and the remote control.
Step 1. Insert Batteries
First of all, you have to insert the batteries into the remote. If it has a plastic strip, remove it. Put the batteries provided with the remote or they may be already installed.
Step 2. Switch ON
Make sure your light strips are installed properly. Connect them to the power outlet through the provided adapter. Now, switch ON the light. The entire LED strip should be working.
Step 3. Enter Pairing Mode
The light will enter into pairing mode. Some brands may have a pairing button on the remote and on the strips adapter.
Locate the button and press it. Connect immediately after entering the pairing mode. You must read the user manual to check the exact process.
Step 4. Confirm the Connection
Now, you have to check the success. Increase the brightness or change the color on the remote. If the strips respond promptly, the remote is paired successfully. Otherwise, turn OFF/ON the lights to enable pairing mode.
Step 5. Check the Functions
Some remotes have specific buttons for fast response. For example “Jump3 and Jump7”. Likewise, there are “Fade3 and Fade7” buttons. Try all these features.

Learn to Pair Remote with LED Strip Receiver
Some brands make advanced LED strips. They are equipped with a receiver/ controller. Hence, the pairing method is a bit different. Follow these steps correctly;
- Turn ON your strip lights and insert remote batteries.
- On the receiver, locate the black “Learn” key. Press and hold it for 10 seconds.
- Press and hold the Learn key for 10 seconds. Release it when LEDs flash once and then turn white.
- Open the settings on your LED controller or receiver. Press any number key within 10 seconds of turning ON the device.
- All the lights will turn red and then to the original color. This indicates a successful pairing.
How to Control LED Strips with Remote?
Once, you have paired the LED strip remote, it is time to operate it. However, you may feel confused because an LED remote has too many buttons.
But, it is not too complicated. You just need to understand the function and purpose of each key. The design and keys may vary across different brands.
But, the basic operating system is the same. Here is a complete explanation of the remote controller;
ON/OFF: Obviously this button is used to turn ON and OFF the lights. It is usually located in the upper right corner.
Play/Pause: It pauses and resumes the current mode of the lights.
Up/Down: This key has a sun symbol or up/down arrows. You can use it to increase or decrease the brightness level.
Auto: It turns ON automatic switching between different modes.
Quick/Slow: Adjust the speed of color change. It is labeled as “+/-”.
Fade: It refers to dynamic gradient mode or fluid changes.
Jump: It is used to jump across a set number of colors such as 3 or 7.
Flash: It enables strobe mode for white light.

The immediate reason is that remote batteries are dead. So, replace them with fresh batteries. Point the remote directly and correctly to the strips. Maintain a minimum distance and remove any interfering objects.
Why my LED strips are not connecting to Wifi?
Set your Wifi to 2.4GHz. Keep your LED strips, phone, and router closer. Further, restart your strips and Wifi router. Also, update the router and mobile app. Be sure to enter the right password. Reduce the number of devices connected to your Wifi router to free up space.
